    • I have no idea why people choose MC5 for the Best storyline

        Loading editor
    • MC5's storyline is good when you understand the whole plot like I mostly do. But it's barely close to being as good as MC3 or MC4's storyline and my favorite is MC3's in my opinion.

I do like the Antogonist Faction's biggest plans and goals in all 3 games I've played. The KPR Alliance from MC3 plan to launch multiple nukes onto US soil that can lead to hundreds of thousands of deaths. The Unified Citizens, a terrorist organization founded by Page in MC4, engineered a deadlier H5N1 to release all over the US that can lead to 4 billion dead. The WLA in MC5 want to cause WW3 which can lead to millions dead.

    • Please vote only if you actually know about the older games. Don't vote MC5 if that's the only game in the series you played.

    • I'm the lone voter for MC3's graphics and MC2's multiplayer... MC4 had better graphics initially, but after Gameloft killed it with aliasing in the Meltdown update, MC3 looks better now. MC4 has better effects and sometimes higher quality rendering, but MC3 is overall much sharper and cleaner and I tend to notice that much more when playing.

As for MC2's multiplayer, there's no doubt that the multiplayer options pale in comparison to MC3+, but the most important aspect for me is how much I enjoy it, and I still have more fun in MC2 than any of the others.

    • MC3 looks very good indeed, especially shading effects on the weapons. However I think MC4's special effects are just too awesome, I love the explosions in that game.

MC2's multiplayer is kind of special, it has a unique atmosphere in the series, which I miss in later games. MC5 is the extreme opposite in this case. For me, MC3 and MC4's specializations and skills are what makes the games a little more tactical.

    • Hands down, MC3 is the fastest paced game.

        Loading editor
    • How on earth is MC5 winning the best graphics award??? Everything in that game looks like plastic...

        Loading editor
    • People complain that it's too colorful and I do agree. But I gotta admit that MC5 has the best character designs.

        Loading editor
    • I would go as far as to say that MC2 looks better than MC5, at least on my devices. Maybe even on par with Sandstorm.

    • I'm joining in for the first time in 1000 years. Nice to see you all again.

Best Graphics: Absolutely MC3. MC4 is also good, but explosion graphics are more realistic in MC3.

Best Game design: MC4. MC3 had a fairly good design, and MC4 was a drastic improvement over MC3 in terms of this category.

Storyline: MC3. There was a clear plot: KPR invading the US, and Phantom Unit fighting back. Not only that, it retained coherency. Action-packed campaign missions enhanced the quality as well. As for MC4 the storyline was great as well, but I personally liked the MC3 storyline better.

Multiplayer Gameplay: Definitely MC3. Although I must admit that there were much more hackers than there were in MC4, Montreal did a great job in cracking down the hacking activity, and gameplay became much more enjoyable. The variety of maps made players use different weapons for different purposes, which created varied combat from time to time. Quick-paced gameplay was also made possible as well.

Conclusion: Overall MC3 was the best.

    • Amen. Not to mention without MC3, there'd be no MC4 or 5 if you know what I mean.

        Loading editor
    • And without MC1 and MC2, there'd be no MC3, 4, or 5. D:

    • Domination?

    • MC2 really got the ball rolling with multiplayer and MC3 added on so much to it.

        Loading editor
    • MC1 got the whole multiplayer aspect as a free update. Nowadays Gameloft would never do such an awesome thing.

100% agree. Modern Combat 2 had a very unique feel compared to many other games. It may have been lacking some features we take for granted in newer games - sprint, killstreaks, customizable attachments - but for me that made it very unique and overall it cropped out well. Even though it would be considered a dinosaur for the mobile platform, it has a small but dedicated community keeping the game alive in the form of 2-5 servers with reasonable populations.

    • Wish there was some way of getting MC2 for the latest android version.

    • I've seen it work on Lollipop in some cases, there's a chance it could also work on later versions but I haven't seen anyone try this yet.

    • Wait, what do you mean by "Game Design"?

Game Design (hence its name) includes level design, and interface. I agree for Modern Combat 4 having the best game design, which less clutter on the maps (MC3 was a little too cluttered for me) and a nice armory interface.

    • So, does level diversity count?

        Loading editor
    • Yep.

        Loading editor
    • I feel MC3 has more diversity in missions, but I do agree on MC4 having an armory interface showing what stats were reduced when a certain attachment was used and seeing what a gun looked like when an attachment was used.

        Loading editor
    • Really? I think MC4 has more diversity in missions. While MC3's campaign is fun, there are too many times where I find myself shooting through waves of endlessly respawning enemies, particularly in Thunder Hill.

        Loading editor
    • Oh well, I had fun on both campaigns more than MC5's, that's for sure.

        Loading editor
    • MC5's campaign actually has great gameplay variety, in my opinion. You get to use drones, shoot miniguns on helicopters, boat chases, and rescuing hostages. However, the overall campaign feels like the developers made a cool list of things they wanted to add into the game, and then later thought of the story to connect them.

        Loading editor
    • I'm actually talking about how long it was, but I suppose you have a few good points. I feel the campaign was an afterthought when compared to MC3's, MC4's, and even CoD Ghost's, the CoD with supposedly the worst campaign.

        Loading editor
    • MC2 also had great diversity, desert, jungle, snowy and shanty towns. As well as plenty of indoor/outdoor battles.

        Loading editor
    • I think all the games in the series (including MC1) had great variety in maps.

        Loading editor
    • Even MC5?

        Loading editor
    • It had Venice, Japan, construction site and a skyscraper. My favorite part of MC5 is in the last chapter you can hear Kal from Nova 3.

        Loading editor
    • Yeah, even MC5. As much as some people like to beat on a dead horse (MC5), with the hater glasses taken off, it does have its merits, like camos, Squad Battles, dynamic maps (Rooftops), long-ranged maps (Canals) selecting where to place an Airstrike, and many more. But overall, it did have many shortcomings which I believe plagued this game for its lifetime.

        Loading editor
    • I forgot to mention but to be honest, I was expecting for MC3 to win the best storyline award since it's the only game in the series where you literally take on North Korea.

    • Hopefully their great leader won't nuke us...

    • I am voting for MC4 in the "Best Multiplayer" category for one awesome reason: Local Multiplayer. It is the funniest thing I have been doing with my friends this summer. Everything unlocked, no ping and monitoring each other — what else do you need for happines? 😃

    • Any ideas why some MC4 apps don't have local wifi? Mine has it but my friend's app doesn't. Both bought legit

You know that all MC's have local multiplayer except MC5, right?
