The PR39 is the Tier 7 assault rifle in Modern Combat 5, featuring high damage and the second-highest rate of fire of all assault rifles, second only second to the KOG V. Compared to the KOG V, however, the PR39 features a much higher damage-per-shot, as well as higher armor penetration, and possesses the fastest time-to-kill of any automatic weapon in the game, potentially rivaled only by The Stacker and The Enforcer. The PR39 also has very low recoil even without a grip attached. As such it is a popular weapon in higher-league play, particularily in Diamond League.
While the weapon's initial stats and performance are similar to the KOG V, with full upgrades and attachments, the PR39 will kill an opponent noticeably faster than the KOG V (with a theoretical time-to-kill of 0.125 seconds, compared to the KOG V and Bramson's time-to-kill of 0.22 seconds), while only being marginally inferior in terms of accuracy and range.
The PR39's most noticeable deficit is its very slow reload, taking 3-4 seconds to complete by default (however fully upgrading the Assault class's Dexterity Skill lowers it to 2.5 seconds). It also has a lower range statistic than other assault rifles, meaning that theoretically it will be outgunned at longer ranges by other assault riles and sniper rifles; in practice, however, this deficit can be overcome.
Overall the PR39 is an unusual weapon which can be extremely deadly in the right hands, handling akin to a "hybrid: of an assault rifle and a SMG. The PR39 is unarguably among the most effective assault rifles in close-quarters combat, tying with the Enforcer and the Stacker in this regard.
