The PR39 is the Tier 7 assault class weapon in Modern Combat 5, featuring very high damage along with a very high rate of fire, surpassed only by the KOG V and the Grinder. Compared to the KOG V, however, the PR39 features a much higher damage-per-shot and higher armor penetration, with the PR39 possessing one of the fastest times to kill of any automatic weapon in the game, potentially rivaled only by the Sapper class' WES and Prestige-Tier rifles such as the Enforcer, Stacker, Grinder, and V.L.I.-35. As such, it is a popular weapon in higher-league play such as in the Diamond League.
While the PR39's initial stats and performance are similar to the KOG V, with full upgrades and attachments, the weapon will kill an opponent noticeably faster than the KOG V, while only being marginally inferior in terms of accuracy and range.
The PR39's most noticeable deficit is its very slow reload, taking 3-4 seconds to complete by default. (However, fully upgrading the Assault class's Dexterity Skill lowers its reload speed to 2.5 seconds). The weapon also has a lower range statistic than most other assault rifles, meaning that it will theoretically be outgunned at longer ranges by other assault riles and sniper rifles (in practice, however, this deficit can be overcome). Compared to the KOG V, the PR39 also sports higher recoil and stronger kickback when firing (particularly when hip-firing), which can make it tougher to keep a steady aim on moving targets.
On the whole, the PR39 is a weapon which can be extremely deadly in the right hands, and can be considered a "higher risk, higher reward" alternative to the more versatile KOG V. The PR39 is arguably among the most effective assault rifles in close-quarters combat, tying with the WES in this regard, potentially only out performed by Prestige rifles.
