Campaign
The MK45 is a common sidearm, it can be seen in a few missions, notably Dragon King of the Sea. The MK45 is similar to its predecessor, the Beretta M9, having low damage, a higher rate of fire and a large magazine.
Multiplayer
Unlocked by default, the MK45 is a fairly common sidearm online, thanks to its good magazine size, accuracy and fire rate. The Extended magazine attachment is fairly redundant due to the already large 12 round magazine. FMJ rounds are considered to be more useful, since the MK45's biggest flaw is the lack of power. Despite being weak if used as a primary weapon, the MK45 can serve very well as a "finishing" weapon when your primary runs out of ammo in the clip.

Trivia
- The bullet in the magazine is in 3D.
- On the side of the pistol, it reads, "MK45 USSOCOM Cal .45"
- The Suppressor on the MK45 uses the same firing sound as all suppressed weapons in Modern Combat 2: Black Pegasus and silenced pistols in Tom Clancy's Rainbow 6: Shadow Vanguard, another Gameloft game.
- Oddly, in the concept art for the Modern Combat 4: Zero Hour supporting villain Everett Saunders, he is seen holding an MK45, even though the weapon doesn't make an appearance in the game.
- Just like with the other pistols, the Suppressor does not keep you off the radar.
