Kill signatures or kill signs are a multiplayer feature of Modern Combat 2: Black Pegasus, Modern Combat 3: Fallen Nation, Modern Combat 4: Zero Hour and Modern Combat 5: Blackout. Whenever a player is killed their killer's chosen kill signature will appear onscreen.

Modern Combat 2 is the first game in the series to feature kill signatures. Several are available by default, and others can be unlocked by reaching certain Ranks or performing certain tasks.
Modern Combat 3: Fallen NationEdit
Modern Combat 3: Fallen Nation expands drastically upon kill signature customisation. Sounds can now be added when a player is killed, and there are a large number of available customization options. The player's rank also appears on the kill signature now.
As in the picture, the player can select a picture for their kill signature. The most expensive is a nuke icon that costs 100,000 credits.
A sound can be purchased that will play when the player's victims are killed. Space is available for free, with the most expensive one being the Baby, at 100,000 credits.
Backgrounds add a little more flair and style to the kill signature. The most expensive one is a landscape of some greenland and trees, at 250,000 credits.
Modern Combat 4: Zero HourEdit
Kill signature customisation in Zero Hour is almost identical to the one in Fallen Nation.
As in the picture, the player can choose a head or a picture for their kill signature. The most expensive is the diamond with a 250,000 credit price tag.
A tone can also be bought that will be played when the player's victim is killed. Cat Meow is already available, and the most expensive tone is the Train Horn, at 250,000 credits.
While not necessary, backgrounds add a little flair to the kill signature. Gold is the expensive one, again at 250,000 credits.
Modern Combat 5: Blackout Edit
Players can select images which can be customized with different colors.
