A nuclear explosion in North Korea, during the mission Martyrdom

MC3-Nuclear Missile-world

A Nuclear Missile goes off in Pakistan during a multiplayer match.

A Nuclear Weapon is an explosive device that derives its destructive force from nuclear reactions, either fission or a combination of fission and fusion. Both reactions release vast quantities of energy from relatively small amounts of matter.

Nuclear weapons have been featured in Modern Combat: Sandstorm and Modern Combat 3: Fallen Nation.

Modern Combat: Sandstorm[]

A nuclear weapon is acquired by terrorist commander Abu Bahaa, who intends to use it on American soil. In the missions A Nuke Too Far and Underground Compound, Lieutenant Warrens and his squad are sent to find the weapon and secure both it and Bahaa. Warrens manages to secure the weapon, but Abu Bahaa flees the scene.

Modern Combat 3: Fallen Nation[]

Nuclear weapons are featured heavily in the endgame of Modern Combat 3. In the level Facade, The player can see nuclear-tipped ballistic missiles, which the player's squad initially mistakes for earthquake tremors, lift off toward their targets. And in the level Martyrdom, the player is tasked with stopping the missiles by sabotaging them.

In the multiplayer map Countdown, players battle in a KPR missile complex, including in a missile silo, complete with a live missile ready for launch.
