It can be used effectively to negate the weight disadvantage of heavy weapons such as the M249, light weapons like the Beretta M9 to allow for ultra-fast movement around the map, or assault rifles like the MN106 to outmaneuver opponents. It is also a popular choice for Capture the Flag.
